Hercules leaves his children in Thebes and descends to the Underworld to bring Cerberus to the earth. His long absence creates the suspicion that he has died. The Wolf turns against Hercules' children, whom he suddenly appears and saves. Then Hera inflicts madness on the hero, who kills his wife and children. Once he recovers, he wants to commit suicide, but Theseus saves him, coming to cleanse him from the pollution.
