It is precisely this dark area that Freud set as the purpose of his life to explore. Thus, "The Interpretation of Dreams", the key to entering the unconscious, in many ways contains the entire subsequent edifice of psychoanalysis, and becomes the precursor to a series of great works, which belong more or less to the same chronological and thematic period.
