The 8 passengers who happened to be sleeping in their seats when the Event occurred, woke up to discover that everyone else had disappeared... and that the plane was flying on autopilot. Gradually, they realize that not only their fellow passengers have vanished, but also many other things - mainly outside the plane.
Among the 8 is the off-duty pilot Brian Engle, who can fly the plane... only he cannot guarantee their return to the world from which they took off.
