Description
How does one approach a national pavilion at a time when the fluidity of national identities, rapid shifts and changes, and the idea of the nation-state as we know it are being questioned and simultaneously reinforced in extreme versions?
In the official catalog of the Greek Pavilion for the Venice Biennale 2019, Mark Mazower, Grazina Subelyte, Adam Szymczyk, Panagiotis Panopoulos, among others, contribute with their texts to the narrative of the Greek Pavilion and the international exhibition, but also approach the phenomenon of constructing narratives in general, inspired by the curatorship of Katerina Tselou in the works of Zafos Xagoraris, Eva Stefanis, and Panos Charalambous.
The publication is complemented by the texts of the Minister of Culture and Sports, Myrsini Zorba, the national commissioner Syrago Tsaira, the curator Katerina Tselou, a poem by Nikos Engonopoulos, and the text by Mr. Stigl.
