The updated function shifts the sensor by half or one pixel in a programmed sequence for 16 pixel-shifted images that are reconstructed into a high-precision 240.8 MP image from the original 963.2 MP (equivalent) data. I'm not a professional but I am an extremely demanding hobbyist and until before this machine I had never been fully satisfied. It is the first time I feel FULLY satisfied. I have the A7R4 "A" which is slightly refreshed with the best monitor and 5Ghz. The machine takes exceptional photos with incredible detail and very good eye AF as well as exceptional subject tracking. Exceptional quality even from the OLED monitor. As a cherry on top, the grip is bigger and now I feel not insecure but confident. No restrictions on 4k video, you can shoot as long as you want and even with Eye AF..!!! For "THIS" money and in "combination" with what it offers, there is nothing better. Exceptional guys...

I have it in my possession for about a month. I come from Sony a7Riii and I thought I wouldn't see any significant differences. But I did see them!!! Initially, it has a larger grip which personally suits me incredibly well because I have big hands. Beyond that, I saw an incredible difference in the camera's autofocus.. we're talking about a significant difference. Especially in eye autofocus, day and night. I mainly have it for studio use due to its high megapixels, but it will also be helpful for weddings in the upcoming season. I consider it the ideal mirrorless body for a professional or enthusiast, but it is quite expensive compared to its predecessor. If someone doesn't consider fast focusing as such an important factor, then they can go for a smaller model.
