Description

"The Wizard of Earthsea," the first book in the "Earthsea" series, narrates how Ged, a peasant boy from the island of Gont, became Archmage and Lord of the Dragons, whose journeys and achievements became the subject of many songs and legends.
When Ged, still a child, discovers his inclination towards magic, he apprentices under the wizard Ogion and then at the renowned School of Wizards on the island of Roke. However, as he hones his skills and stands out among his peers, driven by enthusiasm and arrogance, he makes a terrible mistake with incalculable consequences. The struggle to make amends will be the hardest battle he has ever fought...

"Earthsea" is a world with countless islands, each with its own culture. It is said that the oldest and wisest creatures in the world, the dragons, reside there. These island societies accept magic as an integral part of their lives, and everything has a secret name, which grants power over it to whoever knows it.

The fantastical world of Earthsea has been compared to J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth and C.S. Lewis's Narnia. Its creator, the great Ursula K. Le Guin, wrote five novels and a series of short stories set in the islands of the archipelago, which are considered classic works of fantasy literature.

Aeolos Publications are reissuing the "Earthsea" books in Greek, with the addition of an epilogue by the author in each volume.
