Very good product with marginally satisfactory dimensions and weight, although I would prefer it to be at least 4.2 kilograms and above, and larger in appearance. It has plenty of metal, but I would like it to be a media center, with an internal hard drive for storage and not for Blu-ray recording since that is supposedly prohibited, at least from 1 terabyte. The SD card-micro card input, which is very basic, is missing. It is a 100% digital unit, and for this reason, there are no analog audio ports, only digital ones for use as a transport. I would like it to come with 2 remote controls, one that it already has, and a desktop keyboard. Overall, it is excellent.

I will do a more extensive evaluation. It is an excellent, sturdy construction at first glance, in design and quality. I really like music and cinema. First, regarding music, and having a collection of genuine Sacd and DVD-audio, as well as many recorded ones. I have to say that for some reason, it doesn't play the recorded ones at all. I have two other similar devices and they don't have this problem. But as for the rest of the music, the incredible clarity and detail of the sound are impressive. So far so good. I don't mind the lack of analog output or the lack of an LCD screen, although I could say it could have a more modern menu, it has some strange settings. As for the image as a Blu-ray player, it's okay, it's a Bravia, but it still feels like something is missing. It also has a not very convenient menu, you need binoculars to see the subtitles. As a media player, it is a big disappointment. And it was another reason why I made the purchase. As previous users have mentioned, it doesn't play all file formats, and Dolby Vision is strange. It also doesn't play many audio files. It has many negatives in terms of functionality, and all these things are puzzling, strangely.

In conclusion, as a Blu-ray player, it is a serious proposition, and as a music device, it is a unique opportunity. But as an operating system and menu, I am quite dissatisfied. Because we are talking about modern technology, and especially Sony. What else can I say. I hope the company will make some upgrades and make our lives a little easier with a new firmware. Because for 300 euros, using it as a simple CD player or a Blu-ray player with funny subtitles is completely pointless. Nevertheless, I like this tool because it plays amazing music. I have examined the device and finally concluded that there are some unacceptable things for the size of Sony. It does not play Atmos or Vision in many files and through Netflix. It does not play many discs unless they are mastered. It is an unacceptable media player. There are freely available codecs for programs that can play, for example, MKV with DTS sound. Unacceptable operating system and menu. I don't know where all this comes from. Sony should have more respect for its customers. Good image and sound alone are not enough, especially in certain cases. I occasionally play a SACD or DVD-Audio, rarely watch movies on it, and rarely find good 4K movies. I feel very disappointed.

Very good, it is worth it, it plays many file formats, the only downside is that it plays files with low mbps, it cannot play fast discs mp4 100 to 150 mbps

The image quality is amazing, it makes a perfect upgrade. As for the sound quality, it produces a "hard-metallic" tone, which sometimes sounds impressive, sometimes not and tires the ear. Sony always had excellent image but not sound. At the moment, playing super audio CD, they should have also included a simple stereo analog audio output. What would it cost? Oh, the cost-saving spirit of companies. That's why I save in my rating and only give three stars.

It is an amazing device for using blue ray discs or audio CDs.
A heavy device that screams good build quality and a very nice finish.
Unfortunately, it does NOT play DOLBY ATMOS on NETFLIX or movies from a hard drive that are in Dolby Atmos format. Very disappointing. Also, I would like a backlit remote control.

I have had the product for about 1.5 months. During this time, I have played three movies from genuine 4K UHD Blu-ray discs. In two instances, the playback suddenly stopped in the middle of the movie and the device shut down. I don't know if it was a coincidence, but it has made me worried. The colors are slightly more vibrant than necessary (perhaps it's the discs that were played). The sound from genuine music CDs is very good, but I didn't buy it for that. There are no controls on the device itself, everything is controlled by the remote. I am cautious, time will tell.

After a satisfactory period of use and having played more genuine Blu-ray discs, I can confidently say that the issue with the colors mentioned above was specific to certain discs and not a general problem. Overall, the colors and resolution are now absolutely satisfactory and of a very high level. Also, after a software update, the issue with playback stopping has not occurred again. Excellent performance in streaming music from a home network, with very good sound quality, no buffering, and control via an Android app on a mobile device.
