A comprehensive coverage of all these topics would require a separate volume for each. However, the limited time of an academic semester would practically make their study difficult or impossible. Thus, this book attempts a brief presentation, based on the fact that several of the necessary knowledge for understanding the subject matter has been acquired in previous mandatory courses of the study program, such as Electrical Engineering, Electrical Applications and Electrical Laboratory, Applied Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, and Heat Transfer.
