The reader should imagine the events of the work unfolding there in 1924 to 1926. This information seems necessary to explain the customs and characters. Objectively judging now that I reread the text, I see it placed in an immediately post-war era. There were not many novels written at that time, the genre had almost disappeared. I remember that it required a dose of frivolity, or youthful madness, to engage with the novel... Only something in the air warned you that this genre was charged with the message of the new times.
