The sixth century was one of the most turbulent in the history of the Roman Empire. Its borders were threatened by various invaders: Huns, Vandals, Goths, Saracens, Persians. However, all of them faced the name of Belisarius with fear and respect, as he was a formidable horseman and warrior, as well as a general of exceptional intelligence and courage. Belisarius led the Emperor's armies and went wherever Justinian sent him: sometimes to the eastern borders of the Euphrates, sometimes to Carthage, on the other side of the Mediterranean, and sometimes to Rome.
