Description

The work "Planning & Urban Law" is a modern and comprehensive handbook for the study and teaching of planning and urban law. It systematically develops the subject of spatial and urban planning law from the highest level, spatial planning, to personalized applications, such as building permits and acts issued based on legislation for unauthorized constructions.

The work is structured in three parts. The first part approaches the subject, purpose, characteristics, and sources of spatial and urban planning law. In a separate chapter of the first part, the historical formation of this law is also presented, in order to better understand its current phase of development. The second part follows, in which the forms that spatial and urban planning takes as a method of administrative action are examined, as well as the content and legal consequences of the various categories of spatial and urban plans, and the legal means available to the Administration for the acquisition of communal and public spaces of the city and the implementation of urban planning. The third part analyzes the rules that regulate the use and construction of properties, as well as the control of construction works.

The work is accompanied by a glossary of basic spatial and urban planning terms, rich Greek and foreign bibliography, and an extensive index.

Greek spatial and urban planning law has been going through a period of significant changes in recent years. This work incorporates the extensive amendments that have taken place in spatial and urban planning legislation up to 2018 (Law 4315/2014, Law 4447/2016, Law 4495/2017, PD 59/2018, etc.), as well as the latest developments in the case law of the Council of State.

It is an important aid for all those involved in the application of spatial and urban planning law, and especially for daily legal practice, as it incorporates all the new legislative regulations, along with rich case law on these issues.
