The increasing use of the internet and information and communication technologies is directly linked to the commission of old and new forms of criminal offenses. Cybercrime is growing and poses unpredictable threats to social order, targeting both individuals and entities relying on new technologies, as well as state entities and government policies. These threats, due to the global nature of data and their cross-border and diverse character, challenge the security of the information society and a range of legitimate goods and freedoms of citizens worldwide.
The need for a more systematic approach to this scientific field, which highlights the evolution and significance of legislative needs and predictions, already constitutes sufficient reason for the publication of this work. This work, titled "Cybercrime," aims to achieve three specific objectives: Firstly, the transmission of specialized knowledge to legal professionals through the writings of a selected group of legal experts. Secondly, the provision of knowledge stimuli and positions to promote dialogue between theory and case law, which consolidates the interpretive resolution of critical legal issues and connects theoretical knowledge with vibrant judicial daily life. And thirdly, the formulation of research proposals in thematic axes, which are offered for further deepening and utilization.
