In a small fishing village on an island in the Gulf of Naples, our 16-year-old hero experiences his first romance with a vacationer, while simultaneously searching for answers to tormenting questions. We are in the 1950s, just after the end of World War II, and Italy, trying to heal from the traumatic experiences of its fascist past, is invaded by American sailors of the Sixth Fleet and German tourists.
