During the last decade, there has been a continuously worsening situation in both the economic and social and political life of Greece, the cost of which the Greek people are called to pay.

The governments of PASOK and ND in the period 2010-15 implemented two memoranda in various forms of "collaboration", under the dictates and instructions of the supranational troika EU-ECB-IMF and with the support of the domestic forces of the ruling class, resulting in the economic collapse of the country (significant decrease in GDP, explosive unemployment and impoverishment of the people). Unfortunately, the hopes for a reversal of the situation in the 2015 elections were disproven - in less than six months, the SYRIZA and ANEL government, disregarding the declared commitments to abolish austerity and promote a program of productive reconstruction of the country, changed course aligning with the demands of the foreign troika and the local oligarchy.

What should we do? The Marxist Study & Research Space, through its studies and especially the organization of annual scientific conferences in recent years, has contributed to the theoretical foundation of the alternative proposal for a popular exit from the crisis and the hostage of the euro, and for the recovery of national and popular sovereignty above all. Specifically, the last international conference on the topic "Conditions for Overcoming Austerity and Supervision" held in early 2018 and presented in this edition, constitutes a specific effort to outline the roadmap of alternative politics.
