The HXR-NX200 is an affordable, compact camcorder with a large 1.0-type sensor and new color reproduction for exceptional 4K or Full-HD image quality. It offers all the professional features you need with sophisticated manual controls, including three independent manual lens rings, intelligent fully automatic options, and much more.

4K or HD: Simply excellent image quality

A large 20 megapixel 1.0 type sensor offers stunning image quality in 4K (3840×2160) or Full-HD at 50 Mbps. The 1.0 sensor is brighter, has higher resolution, and offers more bokeh with shallow depth of field. The NX200 gives you the flexibility to work as you want.

Well-balanced color reproduction

The natural skin tones and rich mid-range colors provide vibrant and true-to-life images, regardless of exposure settings. It is ideal for capturing live events such as seminars, weddings, and worship houses.

Image profile with new gamma curve

The default appearance for the NX200 uses a brand new gamma curve specifically developed for accurate implementation of vibrant and deep colors, with true skin tones. Tuned in consultation with top videographers, it avoids over-saturation of subjects with intense lighting and provides a more natural appearance. The NX200 features six image profile settings to choose from, each of which can be individually customized to meet your requirements.

Sony G Lens with 24x Clear Image Zoom (FHD)

A fixed wide-angle lens of 29mm with 12x optical zoom makes it easy to capture even the most extensive landscape scenes, while also providing exceptional clarity and sharpness - maximizing the performance of the NX200's large 1.0-type sensor.

In addition, your ability to reach distant scenes is supported by Sony's advanced Clear Image Zoom function. After zooming in to maximum 12x optical zoom, the By Pixel Super Resolution technology can enlarge the image by an additional 150% in 4K and 200% in HD, while maintaining image quality. Furthermore, the zoom performance can be doubled at any time with a digital extension of up to 24x.

Manual operation in a professional user-friendly design

The HXR-NX200 is ergonomically designed to provide a lightweight and user-friendly shooting experience. Three manual, independent lens rings allow for smooth, natural adjustment of focus, zoom, and iris control. It can also be used in full automatic mode or completely manual for maximum creative control. The manual selector and buttons on the side of the body allow for quick and easy adjustment of IRIS, GAIN, and shutter speed. White balance is easily adjusted based on color temperature in convenient 100K steps.

Built-in ND filters

An integrated neutral density (ND) filter includes positions for clear, 1/4 (2 stops), 1/16 (4 stops), and 1/64 (6 stops). This facilitates obtaining all the advantages of shallow depth of field even in outdoor daylight shooting, without having to worry about carrying and placing a separate filter.

Multi-format recording with 100Mbps XAVC S 4K, HD, and DV

The HXR-NX200 offers exceptional overall performance regardless of your workflow.

For 4K or Full-HD production, XAVC S provides stunning image quality as well as workflow flexibility and storage performance. Compared to AVCHD, XAVC S captures more details and less noise thanks to its higher bit rate, and it is also supported by all major non-linear processors.

The NX200 also offers the option to record HD in AVCHD or DV, making it easy to integrate your content into existing workflows. The NX200 offers frame rates only for PAL 25p 4K:QFHD 3840×2160 50p, 50i, 25p Full HD, and 50i SD.

Dual media slots for recording flexibility

For extended recording time and workflow flexibility, the NX200 is equipped with two memory card slots and is compatible with SDXC and SDHC cards.

The RELAY function automatically switches recording from the first to the second memory card when the first one is full, while the SIMUL function allows simultaneous recording on two memory cards (for example, for creating an instant backup version). The two Start/Stop buttons on the NX200 handle and body can independently start and stop recording on different memory cards during SIMUL recording mode.
