"You chose a bad time to disagree. Now that we have the upper hand. I will implement the policy of 180-120 at all costs. Do not forget that politics is often cynical...". These were some of the things Alexis Tsipras told us in the last meeting we had with him in October 2014.

This book is not a general assessment of the course of SYRIZA. It mainly refers to the critical issues of the period from the summer of 2014 until today. The material of the volume reflects a perspective on the events as they were happening. It records the resistance to the course that was followed (with the known results), as well as the effort to highlight elements of a different course. The edition includes documents (speeches, statements, articles, letters, non-paper) and explanatory comments that shed light on not so well-known aspects.

The main question that runs through the book is whether the course of SYRIZA was predetermined or could have been different. And especially in relation to the question of what is mainly needed today.

It is, therefore, a testimony from someone who "from within" observed the developments, intervened as much as possible, and in what he perceived. It serves the author's belief that self-critical reflection is necessary, in contrast to the usual positions and practices of the Left, which lack self-criticism and control.
