Description
In this great work, all the moral problems that occupied Tolstoy throughout his life are gathered and take on new sharpness. The problem of life and death, the perfect life and moral education, the contrast between individual and social life, occupy, either in isolated reflections or in discussions, many parts of the work."Anna Karenina" justifies all of Lenin's criticism of Tolstoy and all the interpretations he gives of his character and his work, of his patriarchal agrarian spirit, of his radicalism, of his delusions and contradictions, as well as of his admirable knowledge and artistic rendering of reality. The work is full of great autobiographical pieces, which show not only Tolstoy's external activity, but also the depths of his inner life.

Reviews
This is a surprising translation. The text flows with incredible pace and liveliness despite the age of the translation (1st edition 1958). Translator Simos Spatharis translates Tolstoy with extreme semantic accuracy, unlike other well-known Greek translations, using an excellent and modern, dare I say, language. The only objectively negative aspect (hence the four stars) is that from the end of the third part onwards, small or larger textual omissions are observed here and there (perhaps a decision of the then editor/publisher?), meaning that the text is not complete - without, however, implying that chapters are missing and without in any way distorting the meaning of the novel or affecting the flow of reading. Those of you who have no problem with this, do not hesitate at all; the price is very small for such a stunning "Anna Karenina".
