This volume includes studies dedicated to Irene Philippaki-Warburton, professor of linguistics at the University of Reading in England, whose name has been inseparably linked to the analysis of Modern Greek through contemporary theoretical models. Her pioneering scientific and research work constitutes a substantial contribution to the development and further shaping of Noam Chomsky's Genetic-Transformational theory. Her rich writing activity includes a significant number of articles and five books.
Works by students, friends, and close collaborators, the studies in this volume are a minimal sample of appreciation and love for Irene Philippaki-Warburton for what she has contributed to science and Greek literature for over thirty years.
