In a plateau of an isolated province, there is a small stone building. In it comes and lives a solitary man, living like a hermit. This fact, combined with the long-standing bad reputation of the area, which is considered cursed and no one approaches it, creates eerie rumors about the strange stranger. In the nearest town, a group of four men comments on these rumors and tries to speculate what "he in the stone house," as he is commonly called, could be. Suddenly, the hermit comes into contact with them, causing more interest in the group, igniting the imagination of its four members. The events that follow at an increasing pace will culminate in intensity and suspense until the unexpected end of the novel.
