Description

Another devilishly complex mystery
for the great Hercule Poirot...

Returning after lunch, Hercule Poirot finds an enraged woman waiting for him outside his front door. She demands to know why Poirot sent her a letter accusing her of the murder of Barnabas Panty, a man she has never heard of or seen before.
The strange thing is that neither the famous detective knows him, nor did he ever send the letter for which he is accused.
Entering his house, another visitor awaits him - a man who also claims to have received a similar letter from him, and Poirot begins to wonder how many more such letters have been sent in his name.
The solution to the mystery lies in the details, and Hercule Poirot's gray cells seek the motives behind this case...
Who sent the letters and why?
Who is Barnabas Panty?
Is he really dead, and if so, was he murdered?

  • Very interesting book, with anticipation for the next scene. You really felt like you were reading Christie...

I just finished reading and I feel completely disappointed.
    The (+):
    - At the beginning, it was interesting and had good development.
    The (-):
    - It has nothing to do with Agatha Christie's writing style. Absolutely nothing. The author should not have used the name Poirot or Christie. It is far from them.
    - You feel that Poirot is not Poirot, you feel deceived.
    - The plot, although initially very interesting, becomes overloaded and loses its interest.
    - Logic completely deviates in many parts.
    - In the end, the author mixed so many things together without any common sense, just with some excuses like "I just know it because I think so."
    - There is a boring development towards the end. You feel that the author didn't know how to handle it. For example: "But tell us this. - No, you tell it. - No, I won't say it, you say it." Such points.
    - Explanations given at the end are not convincing at all.
    - It resembles more of a melodrama like Santa Barbara.
    Overall, disappointment.
