"Cognitive Discoveries in Language and Linguistics" is a new comprehensive introductory book on language and linguistics. It is aimed at students who, as specialists, are coming into contact with a variety of European languages for the first time and, through them, with the basic concepts of linguistic analysis. These concepts regarding the structural and functional aspects of language are based on the analysis of a large number of authentic linguistic samples, not only from the students' first language but also from a number of other European languages.
