[...] This study constitutes - at the level of research work - an example of collaboration and cooperation between different scientific fields. Economic analysis, comparative approach from the perspective of social policy, and legal investigation were synthetically utilized in order to comprehensively process the various parameters that affect pharmaceutical policy, resulting in specific reform proposals. Through the close collaboration of Professor Xenophon Kontiades, a distinguished lawyer with extensive recognized research work in Greece and internationally, and two social scientists with promising prospects for academic development, Christina Golna, specialized in comparative health policy, and Dr. Kyriakos Souliotis, with notable work in economics and health policy, a work was produced that sheds light on the overall dimensions of pharmaceutical policy in Greece and Europe. With particular penetrative insight, the authors of the study attempt a calm evaluation of the existing economic and institutional situation and present to the scientific community, social partners, and competent state bodies alternative choices for shaping a new policy for pharmaceuticals.
