If you put ice water in the container (ice is necessary) and wet the coolers with COLD water then it will work for about an hour. And when I say work I mean it will blow slightly cooler air than the atmosphere. If it's, let's say, 37 degrees, it will give you 35..
I had a similar one for 2 years and it broke. I bought the same one because if you have cold water and you have it turned on yourself, it does the job. It is NOT an air conditioner, but with the above conditions, it cools you locally. The disadvantage compared to the previous one is that it has much fewer "coolers" inside, so I put the old ones and it makes quite a noise compared to the previous one.
I am not bothered by the steady sound that a fan makes, but this particular one obviously makes an unpleasant noise, as it has a small fan (12x12cm). The airflow does little compared to a regular fan.
If you don't put water in it, or if the water constantly runs out, the light keeps flashing (even if you have turned off the light), which is very annoying, especially at night. So, whether you like it or not, it forces you to put water in it, otherwise you have to cover it with something to hide the light. Just for this reason alone, I would give it 1 star.
The buttons are relatively noisy when pressed.
It is very expensive for what you get. I would call it a rip-off. The only positive thing is that it works with USB (although it's not type C) and consumes between 3W and 4.5W, so it is very energy-efficient. I should also mention that I have had two of these for about 5 years, and they still work fine. I haven't even changed the filters.
You can put water with ice cubes in it, and it gives you a feeling like air conditioning, but you have to have it right next to you on the desk. However, the water only lasts for a few hours, and it's not practical to keep adding water constantly. It should have more space for water.
Also, many times water has spilled. Either when adding water or when moving it.. it's a bit fragile.. the water spills.
It's difficult to clean. The fan doesn't come out at all.. you have to break some plastic supports to remove it and clean it. And in general, it doesn't allow you to disassemble it for cleaning.
The most useless purchase I have made.
I ordered two (2). One of the two stopped working after 20 minutes!!!!!
The second one malfunctions after about a week of operation (about 60 minutes per day).
With a few crushed ice cubes and cold water, it produces cool air as long as you have it in front of you at a distance of 30 cm.
The only reason I didn't rate it excellent is that from the beginning, the cable that goes into the USB port does not connect properly, resulting in it not working. However, when it does work, it does a good job as long as you have it close to you, and even without water and ice packs. It definitely doesn't cool down a room, it just cools you off when you have it directed towards you.
Affordable, instead of a personal fan. In the small office where I work, when you have it close to you, it cools you down very well and maybe lowers the temperature a bit. With this low price, I recommend it.
It does the job for under 9 euros cooler. Simply, this particular model, while powerful, makes a loud noise! To the point where it is unbearable. But if you work with headphones and sit next to it, it does something. Also, what do you expect in extreme heat? To replace your air conditioner, which costs at least 30 times more.
Just received this product....the water container arrived broken...it doesn't do anything special...only if it hits you...and OF COURSE it makes noise...even on low volume! 2/5!!
They gave it to me as a gift about 6 months ago. I decided now, during the hot summer, to take it for a test drive. I won't go into detail about the situation. We're talking about a small desk fan with a square (and nice) design. But that's where it ends, in terms of cooling it's absolutely zero, to the point where I don't understand why it asks you to put water in it... It doesn't make any difference compared to a traditional fan.
Water runs everywhere as soon as you shake it, for example inside the car and on the third step very weak. It's a waste of money, it's not good for anything. . .
The worst purchase I have made for 2021. As soon as I opened it, I found broken blinds on the front of the device. I said okay, it doesn't matter. Then I realized that the device has nothing to do with the photos presented in this product. Only the name is the same, the buttons are different, and overall the whole device has no resemblance to the one presented. I read the instructions, turned it on, and of course, it doesn't work. Not because it's broken, it simply doesn't function and doesn't do what it claims, keeping the temperature constant at 22 degrees with water and ice. Obviously, I will return it.
The only positive thing is its price, otherwise it has a little fan like the one the PC tower has and in order to cool you down, you have to have it at a distance less than 60 points from you! I gave it away and relaxed!
OK, do not expect much. It is capable of creating a pleasant atmosphere only locally in the area around a worker's office. Even so, it is beneficial in case there is no AC in the space. I did not regret buying it for a moment.
For 10€ and for personal use, it is excellent. It just needs to withstand use. At the 3rd level, there is quite a bit of noise. It quickly consumes water. But... not even 10€. Update, in the end when it doesn't work, it leaks so you can't use it. Shame.
I bought this about a month ago for my office when I work on my PC. It does a very good job and when you add cold water and ice, it cools the atmosphere very well. However, I always place it close to me, otherwise it doesn't cool the whole room at all. Its construction is not excellent, but it does its job. I am satisfied.
It leaks from everywhere, I spoke with the store's technician and finally the float is broken and the water tank is also punctured. Very cheap construction and poor quality. I would suggest putting ice cubes in front of a fan and that's it
Let's start with the positives. 1) It produces cool air with cold water and ice packs.
2) Its power is quite good, but it can in no way be compared to an air conditioner.
3) The LED it has is beautiful.
4) It is cheap and eco-friendly.
Now let's move on to the negatives.
1) It is quite noisy.
2) It does not cool a room at all. However, it will definitely break the heat near you.
3) You fill it up and don't move it because you will end up with water everywhere.
Conclusion. Buy it, but expect it to only lower the temperature of a small room by 2-3 degrees. Otherwise, spend another 30 and get an air cooler with greater capabilities
The second time I used it, the fan got stuck and it only had the first level of air constantly!!!.. Get a fan for 5 euros and put an ice bag in front of it...
I bought it to see how it works and confirm that it's rubbish.
It has a small tank where you put cold water (on the right) and with this water, it waters the "papers" through which the air passes...
1) The valve (float) that should close as soon as the level on the papers reaches a certain point does not float correctly (and I have it stable, imagine moving it when it's filled), resulting in creating a lake wherever you place it until the water in the tank reaches below 2 fingers...
2) It doesn't have cooling function... It's better to hang tissues on a regular fan...
It is truly unacceptable that it only has a USB plug, so in order to make it work, you have to plug it into a USB port of your computer when it is turned on, otherwise you have to look for a socket with a USB port to make it work. It is also unacceptable that a product that is sold in the Greek market does not have instructions in Greek. A classic fan is a thousand times better than the Arctic Air ARC-001.
It is good for the office mostly and during times of not extreme heat. It cools the atmosphere. I would prefer if it had a battery so it could be moved elsewhere. I also use it on the balcony when I work with my laptop.
A decent proposal that cost 18 €.
It is a small fan that cools down and not just recycles the air. It is definitely not an air conditioner and does not lower the room temperature. Its use is to have it in front of you and the air it emits is cooler (and not cold) than a regular fan. I have it in the corner of my desk or on a chair across from the bed. On the negative side, it makes noise.
One of the worst constructions I have seen!! Performance zero. If you are close, you get soaked from the humidity. Its real value should not exceed 5 euros, and I'm being generous....
We are talking about a little fan that blows through paper membranes with water. I didn't see any temperature difference in the room, only if you have it right next to you, you feel cool in the area where it blows, but only at full power. However, because it increases the humidity in the room, the atmosphere becomes suffocating in a short time. Invest your money in a good silent fan!
