The engagement with Natural Sciences as a human endeavor arouses admiration, inspires interest in young children. The significant developments in science change the way we perceive our world and how we understand our environment. Preschool-age children are able to shape elements of scientific concepts, while developing fundamental concepts of understanding science.

Learning Natural Sciences is not limited to the classroom, but also extends beyond the typical school setting, into nature. Children enter the educational system with initial alternative ideas and interpretations of various phenomena that they will be taught. Designing learning activities that involve the exploration of the natural world by young children is a great challenge.

This collective volume aims to provide a systematic presentation of the multiplicity of teaching Natural Sciences in preschool age. Through the four parts of the volume, in the 19 chapters written by a total of 40 authors, an attempt is made to continue the dialogue on the teaching of Natural Sciences to young children and to highlight the challenges and prospects that lie ahead.
