It starts again from zero without me even touching it. I was very disappointed when it happened for the first time, and after it happened again, I now use it as a simple piggy bank. Whether it has a counter or not, it's the same thing.
Despite all this, I admit that it accurately detects the value of the coin you put in it! But even there, you have to put the coins in slowly, one by one. Otherwise, it gets "confused"!
