When Susannah Dean is transported through a magical door from Calla Bryn Sturgis to New York City in 1999, the demon-mother Mia, who has taken over her body, has one singular purpose: to give birth to her child in a specific location in Manhattan, according to the instructions of the satanic Crimson King.
