The biblical interpretation of the Cappadocian Fathers Gregory of Nazianzus, Gregory of Nyssa, and Amphilochius of Iconium, as well as that of the traditional Antiochians of the 4th and 5th centuries. The special emphasis of the volume lies in the consideration of the biblical hermeneutics of the traditional Antiochians and in the proof that there was ultimately never a strict distinction and opposition between the interpretive schools of Alexandria and Antioch.
