The aforementioned book is the culmination of the author's research in a multitude of archaeological sites and museums in the wider Mediterranean region (from France and Italy to Egypt and Saudi Arabia) and his years of research in the world's largest libraries: Vatican Library, National Library of Paris, Laurentian Library of Florence, British Library in London, Bodleian Library of Oxford, Patriarchal Library of Jerusalem, Library of the Monastery of Sinai, Libraries of the Monasteries of Mount Athos, etc.
This book presents many rare manuscripts from the aforementioned libraries, as well as a wealth of historical testimonies and archaeological findings, many of which are being brought to light for the first time.
