Erzincan, Armenia. Spring 1915.

Kework and Nevart, immersed in the ignorance and over-optimism of youth and their love, weave dreams. Suddenly, the black birds of hatred and the winds of war will lead Nevart to free Thessaloniki and Kework to the Syrian desert, where he will experience the horror of the genocide of his people; however, he will manage to survive and reach Piraeus. Some time later, the two young people will return to Erzincan two months apart from each other, vainly searching for their great love, before leaving behind for good the city where they were born and raised.

Thirty-six years later, a gold pendant, with a large heart-shaped ruby in the center, will bring them close again, making them smell the scent of a happiness lost forever.

A true story, like thousands of others from that era, intertwined with the journey of an indomitable Christian people who did not bend to hardships.
