His work is characterized by a peculiar, direct, sincere, and above all understandable language, as Paracelsus aimed for the understanding of ordinary people rather than academics or scholars.
This edition constitutes a compilation of his views from early writings of 1520 as well as texts from the period 1525-26, during his stay in northwestern Germany, as well as lectures he gave in Basel, before being expelled by the medical establishment of his time. There are also texts from Colmar, Nuremberg, Upper Palatinate, Regensburg, Bavaria, and Swabia.
