Two women with completely different backgrounds arrive from Greece to Montreal in 1950, during the period of the great wave of immigration. Both face difficulties. Their first steps are poor, they have to deal with hard work, discrimination, and difficult living conditions. They create their own story and manage to survive each in a different way. Both seek the great dream, living in a difficult time and in a country that promises a lot, but requires constant struggle to achieve it.
