The Katyn Affair resembles a nightmarish version of the game "Mafia." A few friends sit around a table, close their eyes, two murderers appear, Hitler and Stalin, one of them kills half, and the rest open their eyes and try to find out who did it. Only here, the murdered are about 22,000 Polish officers, captured by the Soviet army after its entry into Poland in September 1939, and those trying to discover the culprit are us.

Today, it is generally accepted that the Polish officers were murdered in April-May 1940 in Katyn and several other Russian and Ukrainian areas by Stalin's secret services. This is disputed only by a few disreputable ultra-nationalists and neo-fascist Russian historians and a series of publicists and members of the Communist Party of Greece, who in their extensive writings on the subject in Rizospastis, noisily repeat their claims.

In this book, Christos Kefalis extensively presents the evidence that compels us to accept that Katyn is indeed a Stalinist crime. He refutes the incredible lies and distortions in the claims of the Stalinist side. He shows the reactionary, anti-socialist nature of Stalinism, with which its crimes and lies are connected, and draws the lessons of the Katyn tragedy for the future of the socialist movement.
