Description

"The transition from ignorance to Knowledge - the Knowledge through which we become what we know - can only be achieved by changing consciousness and not by attempting to understand the whole of reality."
Spiritual practice hides many traps. Various difficulties that the practitioner encounters, some dangerous and sometimes destructive. One can get lost in the Valley of Illusory Revelations, remain in the Intermediate Zone, or wander between dilemmas and problems of faith. The "self" wears many masks and, at any given moment, the spiritual person must search and discern what lies behind them.
In the anthology "The Enigma of this World," Sri Aurobindo touches upon and analyzes issues and problems that often arise in relation to spiritual truth and its experience, and answers questions and doubts of those interested in Yoga and spiritual life. "Only if there is a higher consciousness beyond the Mind and when this consciousness is accessible to us, can we know and penetrate the ultimate Reality. Intellectual speculations and logical reasoning about whether such a higher consciousness exists or not cannot take us very far. What we need is a way that will make us experience it, reach it, penetrate it, live within it. If we succeed in this, intellectual speculations and reasoning will necessarily have to take a very secondary position or lose their reason for existence altogether."
