"Say, where is Athens?" asks the romantic poet the god of the Archipelago as he wanders mentally between Europe and Asia. He wonders if the whole city has sunk or if there is any sign left to distinguish it and approach it on his sea journey. Suddenly, in his long sorrow for the lost city, "calling in new acts", he sees the future Athens "opening now like a flower". In this book, an attempt is made to search for the ground, that is, the topology, the "where is" Athens today. The search for the topology of Athens is not done analytically or in any other form of scientific assessment of reality. It is only done in search of the content of a "new act". The content of the "new act" is predetermined through the paths of architectural thinking. However, this thinking is always avoided from becoming a form here, so as not to lose its possible exemplary power, for the time when indeed some plans may be needed for the passage from the Athens of the Basin to the Athens of the Attica Peninsula."
