Goal of the book
I decided to write this book because for some time now I believed and still believe in the need for a financial accounting book that would be reader-friendly. The goal is for the reader not only to overcome any inhibitions and engage with accounting, which is considered a relatively complex scientific field, but also to create the necessary enthusiasm to continue studying it. Now that this book is ready, I hope it will be a suitable aid for students to easily grasp the essence of this subject and achieve excellent performance. I also hope that this book will be an essential tool for teachers, providing simple, understandable, and scientific teaching. Therefore, the goal of the book is to become a friendly and useful aid for students and teachers regarding the fundamental concepts of financial accounting. I hope the future will justify my expectations.

Methodology
For better understanding, the book includes a table of abbreviations and a glossary of foreign terms, as well as definitions and concepts of basic terms used throughout the book.
Each chapter begins with the expected learning outcomes, skills, and knowledge that the reader will gain, as well as the prerequisite knowledge necessary for the study. At the end of each chapter, there is a summary and the main conclusions, questions and answers, as well as solved exercises. The last chapter includes solved exercises covering the entire content of the book. The book concludes with the bibliography and appendices.
Several tables and diagrams have been incorporated throughout the book to visually assist the reader, based on the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words".

Target audience
This book is aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as teachers of financial accounting. It is also suitable for accounting professionals, accounting and financial department personnel, financial analysts, and any reader who wishes to understand the introductory concepts and fundamental elements of the subject.

Book structure
The book consists of nine (9) chapters. The first chapter covers introductory issues of financial accounting. The second chapter deals with the balance sheet of the company. The third chapter discusses the income statement. The fourth chapter analyzes the accounting event and the transformation of accounting equality. The fifth chapter presents the fundamental principles of accounting. The sixth chapter deals with accounts, journals, general ledgers, and balances. The seventh chapter shows the entire accounting cycle and the closing of the company's books. The eighth chapter presents the transition from the Greek General Chart of Accounts to the new Greek Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards [Law 4308/2014]. The ninth and final chapter includes solved exercises for the entire content of the book.
