In this volume, the unpublished foreign-language poems of Alexandros Rizos Rangavis (French, English, German) are included in critical edition, accompanied by literary translation and comments by the editor of the volume. An extensive Introduction is also provided on the life and work of the complex personality of Alexandros Rizos Rangavis, his relationship with the European Romantic movement, and his connection with the case of Greek Romanticism. At the same time, issues concerning the poetic technique of the prominent Phanariot scholar and topics related to the content of the poems (love, religious faith, patriotism, moon) are developed.
