Description

A child disappears in a park outside Rome. A little further from the spot where he was last seen, his mother is found dead, decapitated. The prosecutor and the police authorities believe that the perpetrator is the woman's husband, who, in a state of frenzy, killed his son and hid the body. But when Colomba Caselli arrives at the crime scene, she realizes that something is not right. Colomba is thirty years old, beautiful, athletic, tough. But she is no longer in service due to a tragic event to which she could not respond. Yet, she is still a police officer, and one of the best. Her old boss knows this and asks her to work discreetly on the case, while putting her in touch with Dante Torre, who specializes in disappearances and child abuse cases. Dante is considered a genius, but his incredible deductive abilities are rumored to be matched only by his phobias and paranoia. As a child, he was kidnapped, and while everyone thought he was dead, he grew up imprisoned in a granary, where his upbringing was taken over by his only contact with the world, a mysterious person who demanded that Dante call him Father.
Now, Colomba's request for his help will force him to face his worst nightmare. Because behind the child's disappearance, Dante recognizes the hand of the Father. But if that's the case, why did his captor decide to strike again after so many years? And can Colomba really trust her "ally" or will Dante drag her into a ghost hunt?
