Description

The A250 PWM from Xilence - known for its silent computer components - provides high airflow for CPUs with very good performance. The red 92mm fan, thanks to the Hydro Bearing and PWM control, is extremely quiet.

It cools well but it is too loud. I got it because I like it to make noise when the computer is loading.

WARNING. It does not come with an am3/am4 base for the motherboard.

Purchased to replace the factory cooler on an immortal 6-core FX processor from the 11th decade!! In a desktop with an rx560 gpu and 16gb ram for gaming, as well as plenty of browsing/streaming, it cools very well. It only makes noise when it reaches 1700+ RPM. However, it is not bothersome, at least it doesn't bother me. You get what you pay for, it cost 8 euros. It is also PWM unlike other coolers in the same price range, so you can "play" with its speeds in the BIOS for a more silent profile.
16-20°C idle and 48-52°C max (e.g. WoT at max settings) is great, in a room with 22-25 degrees and a case from the good old Elite series by coolermaster with good airflow.

Finally, I did not use the thermal paste that comes with it. I don't know how good it is.
I have been using PK-3 for years in my builds and I am very satisfied with the results.

It fit into a Mini-ATX case with a width of 170mm, on an AMD FX-4300 processor. In simple tasks such as video playback/surfing, the temperature is °37. It also dropped the temperature by 10 degrees in tasks where the CPU is used at 100% (°53), while the old factory cooler reached temperatures of °63 even at full speed of 3500rpm. Although in terms of cooling, this Xilence is great, at full speed it is not silent. If, for example, in the BIOS you have selected a simple profile and the advanced options are default... then when the processor demands air in a demanding task, the fan spins at 2500-2700rpm and makes noise. So, I have set the silent mode profile, and in advanced mode I have set the CPU fan to silent and the side fans to turbo mode (quiet noiseblocker 1200rpm 13db). Due to the small size of the case, plenty of air is supplied by the side fans to the CPU. So be careful if you don't have sufficient and silent cooling in the side fans of the case and if you are not familiar with the settings in the BIOS or the speedfan program, don't get this cooler but go for a quieter option. Of course, the options are limited for AM3 and AM3+ and there is always the space issue in old cases. For me, this one covered all the parameters, meaning low profile so that there is a gap from the side fans, application with the back against the CPU and not sideways, a 9mm fan so there was no space issue with the RAM on the right, "silent" when operating at around 2000rpm, a screw-on fan on the cooler that makes it easy to remove for cleaning. I don't have an opinion on whether the installation is easy or if the factory paste is good, as a higher quality one was used.
