And Greece remained divided in two. The King and his people pretending not to understand the ambitions of the Bulgarians, and Venizelos, ready to dance in the dance of the Anglo-French, expecting that after the certain - in his opinion - victory, the "gifts of the Magi" would arrive.

And there they were. In an unknown city, far away from the echoes of war, where the only reminder was the absence of men and the lack of food.
