Description

Difficult years, consecutive wars, fluid borders, national division, refugee crisis, pain. And amidst all this, a strong friendship that forever marks people's lives.

In the midst of a paranoid war, seven thousand Greek souls found themselves trapped in a city in Germany. "Geirlitz," they were told it was called, as soon as they were emptied from the trains. "What is this? The aftermath of war?" wondered a soldier. They had no idea about their destination during the long journey. How did they end up there? Why there? What would be their fate? No one could answer with certainty. One day they were in Kavala with the Bulgarian army ready to invade, and the next day they found themselves loaded like sacks onto the trains - an entire Army Corps - ascending towards the unknown. And Greece remained divided in two. The King and his people pretending not to understand the ambitions of the Bulgarians, and Venizelos, ready to dance in the dance of the Anglo-French, expecting that after the certain - in his opinion - victory, the "gifts of the Magi" would arrive.

And there they were. In an unknown city, far away from the echoes of war, where the only reminder was the absence of men and the lack of food.
