With this second volume, "Paraphrases, Literary Texts and Book Reviews 1999-2008", Periklis Sfyridis completes a thirty-year journey as a literary critic. The selection of texts and the editing of the book were done by Sotiria Stavrakopoulou, lecturer of Modern Greek Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, who, in her extensive and analytical introduction, refers to the author's entire critical work. With the thirteen literary texts, the twenty-seven book reviews, and the appendix of correspondence with authors containing critical observations on their work, which are gathered in this volume, not only a comprehensive picture of the contemporary literary production of the region is provided, which has caught the author's interest, but also the aesthetic values that he adopts in his critical work, for the evaluation of authors or poetic and prose books that were published in the decade. Furthermore, the book is offered to highlight the connections between the prose and the critical work of P. Sfyridis, characterized by clarity, conciseness, and above all, the honesty of his speech.
