The development of Electric Power Systems (EPS) is closely related to the development and qualitative upgrade of human life, which is why their analysis, in order to ensure their proper functioning, is of vital importance. This book deals with the study of load flow, which estimates the behavior of EPS in steady-state operation, and the study of short circuits, which determine the currents and voltages in EPS during various types of short circuits. Suitable mathematical models are developed to describe the behavior of EPS in each of these studies, as well as computational techniques used to solve the equations that arise to estimate the behavior of EPS. From this presentation, the usefulness of these studies in the design and operation of EPS is evident.
