The second edition of the book "Geology of Earthquakes" deals with topics from the field of geosciences for the study and understanding of "modern" and "recent" geological structures and processes that are directly related to the geological phenomenon of earthquakes. The main focus of this effort is active faults (definition, characterization, mapping, and study).

The interdisciplinary approach to the study of recent movements of the Earth's crust is mainly done from the perspective of Morphotechnical, Quantitative Neotectonic Analysis, Paleoseismology, and Seismotectonics, with the contribution of other scientific disciplines such as Tectonic Geodesy, Remote Sensing, Archaeoseismology, etc.

The book provides several examples of neotectonic-seismic structures from Greece and other countries with intense active tectonic seismicity, as well as extensive bibliography for further study.

It is primarily aimed at undergraduate students of Geology who are studying the subject of Neotectonics, but also at graduate students or other scientists who are involved in topics of Tectonic Geology, Geomorphology, Seismology Geophysics, Engineering Geology, Geothermal Energy, Tectonic Geodesy, Soil Mechanics, etc.
