Freedom is a very complex issue, and in order to understand its complexity, it is necessary to cultivate the mind. Of course, everyone will give a different interpretation to the cultivation of the human being, according to their customs and traditions, their so-called education, their experience, and their religious biases - that is, depending on their formation. Here we are not dealing with opinions or biases, but rather with a non-verbal understanding of what it entails and its consequences for the cultivation of the mind. This cultivation is the unfolding and cultivation of our mind, our heart, and our physical health. That is, living in complete harmony, in which there is no contradiction or conflict between them. The cultivation of the mind can only be achieved when there is pure perception, objective, impersonal, without the burden of any imposition upon it. The issue is not what we think but how to think clearly. For centuries, we have been taught, through propaganda, what to think. The most modern education is this and not the exploration of the total movement of thought. Cultivation requires freedom; like every plant, it needs freedom to grow.

We will deal with this subject in every letter, in various ways, during the time that lies ahead of us: with the awakening of the heart, which is not sentimentality, romanticism, or imagination, but kindness born out of tenderness and love; and with the cultivation of the body, the right kind of food, proper exercise: which will bring about deep sensitivity. When these three are in complete harmony, that is, the mind, the heart, and the body, then cultivation comes naturally, easily, and in perfection. This is our work as educators, our responsibility, and teaching is the most important profession in life.
