Description

The electric guitar ST-20HSS by Harley Benton is aimed at guitarists of all levels, from beginners who are just starting to learn to play to more advanced musicians looking for an affordable yet quality option for their collection.

It is suitable for various genres of music such as rock, jazz, blues, and more, producing a rich, warm, and natural sound, thanks to its passive pickups.

Classic design for the modern era

The Harley Benton ST-20HSS SBK electric guitar features a body in a classic ST shape and a maple neck finished in a modern and striking matte black color. The fretboard is made of dark Roseacer with white dot inlays to give the guitarist easy orientation at any point on the neck.

This guitar can cover a wide range of styles, from Blues and Jazz to Rock, Alternative, and Metal, thanks to the combination of a humbucking pickup at the bridge and single coil pickups at the neck and middle positions, which means it can sound like a typical ST-type guitar or deliver full humbucker sounds.

HSS Pickup Configuration

The HSS (Humbucker-Singlecoil-Singlecoil) pickup configuration is one of the most popular pickup configurations.

In this configuration, there are three pickups on the guitar body: one humbucker in the bridge position and two single coils in the middle and neck positions.

The two single coil pickups offer a clean and clear sound, as well as good response in the lower midrange. The humbucker pickup, on the other hand, provides a warmer and richer sound, as well as greater resistance to feedback.

This configuration allows the guitarist to choose between different pickup combinations, offering greater flexibility in the guitar's sound.

Passive pickups

The pickups equipped in the Harley Benton ST-20HSS are passive, and do not require external power to operate. Specifically, passive pickups work using magnetism, and produce a signal that is inversely proportional to the movement of the strings.

Neck construction from Maple wood

The Maple wood used in the neck is a significant element for the guitar's acoustics, as it produces a bright and precise tone resulting from the wood's hardness.

Body construction from Poplar wood

The Poplar wood used in the guitar's body offers a balanced sound with emphasis on the mid and low frequencies, performing well even in louder play.

All around ST body shape

The ST body shape it features follows the lines of one of the most widespread electric guitars, such as the Stratocaster. Its design includes a double-cut body for access to the highest frets and an extended "horn" on the upper side that offers perfect balance during upright playing.

With a wide range of supporters, including Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Holly, David Gilmour, and Jeff Beck, it is clear that the ST Style shape can handle practically any musical style.

Abundant Sound Options

The three pickups it features have a main volume control and a five-way switch, which allows the guitarist to select each pickup individually or combine each pair of adjacent pickups (bridge and middle or middle and neck).

The guitar's two tone controls correspond to the neck pickup and the middle pickup respectively, allowing the guitarist to choose a brighter or darker tone according to their preference, while the vibrato system is synchronized, meaning the bridge and tailpiece are combined into a single, rotating assembly.

For your first solos

Its total length is 648 millimeters and it is ideal for beginners who plan to upgrade later to a more high-end model. The modern C-shaped neck profile means that budding guitarists can learn to play on an instrument that has the same basic dimensions as countless other guitars.

Pop, Blues, Jazz, Funk, Rock and more

The Harley Benton ST-20HSS SBK electric guitar combines an impressive level of musical versatility in an affordable instrument for beginners. It is equally suitable for Pop melodies and lively Funk, and the middle single-coil pickup provides a softer sound for Blues and clean Jazz chords. Additionally, the bridge humbucker is ideal when you want to play overdriven Rock riffs.
