This translation of the sacred text of the New Testament comes to light with the blessings of the Holy Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Church of Greece, as well as the Patriarchates of Alexandria and Jerusalem. It is a fruit of love for the word of God and the result of long-term collective work, with a deep sense of responsibility.
The rendering into modern Greek was based on the Ecclesiastical text of the New Testament according to the Patriarchal edition of 1904 and relied on previous translation work (1985), following serious study and evaluation of the proposals made. [...] The translation of the word of God is not intended to replace the original text but to aid in its understanding. Especially in our days, when the approach to the meanings of the New Testament becomes more difficult due to the linguistic distance, the need for translation becomes more urgent.
