Description

More and more voices are rising from those who protest against the crisis of institutions and values and who do not hesitate, sometimes justified and sometimes not, to turn against the immorality of many leaders, not only in politics but also in the religious community. The reason is obvious: while information is abundant in our era, the authentic ethos that will inspire and guide not the masses but each individual person to be informed about a life of authenticity, free from the conscious or subconscious terrorism exercised by guilt, pain, and death, is lacking. In the atmosphere of general pessimism, the modern person of the "media" indeed needs to discover the reason for their existence by listening to the Gospel of hope. Only in this way will they dethrone all the "so-called" Messiahs and realize that the Alpha and Omega of human existence is not zero, but a Person who has been crucified and resurrected because of His love for humanity and the world.

This work is not a systematic ethical treatise but a collection of studies on specific passages of the New Testament that present a stronger interest in matters of quality of life. Through the variety of topics and perspectives that the two authors of these studies touch upon, they do not seek to provide general answers and regulatory standards on ethical issues, since the main purpose of the Gospel is not to impose any "shoulds" but to urge the listener to enter into a unique living relationship with the incarnate Word and the other. This is achieved when a person feels like an organic member of a Body and surrenders themselves to a dramatic dialogue with the sacred texts, especially those concerning existence and life with and after Christ. It is the same conversation with the incarnate and resurrected Lord that the two disciples had when they turned their backs to Jerusalem, disappointed by the disappointment of their expectations. At the end of this conversation with the Word, they managed to experience the absolute reversal that the experience of resurrection brings to life.
