On the occasion of the anniversary of Jack Kerouac's death, the first monograph about the great American writer is released in the Greek language.
Yiannis Livadas has gathered in one volume his dedicatory and critical texts about the life and work of Jack Kerouac. The book is complemented by Tony Sampas' text "Kerouac's Greek Connection".
Jack Kerouac achieved a literary revelation where writing was ambiguous: redemption and condemnation at the same time, the clarity of which led straight to the abyss. While the rest of the Beat Generation sketched all those things they did not want the editors and critics to face, but at the same time deeply tempted psychoanalysts and linguists, Kerouac proved to be the most melancholic and analytical depictor of his time, and moreover the most pioneering among the others. The creator vanished before his death was even registered. However, his texts remain partly unexploited, partly awake. Definitely disarticulated, like this undoubtedly insufficient, unexpected monograph.
