In this book, we deal with the subjects of Wave and Optics, as they are taught in Universities and Technical Institutes. The book includes a concise theory in each chapter, with further explanations in the more difficult points, a series of solved exercises (a total of 216) and finally exercises for solving (a total of 241). For the latter, we provide detailed answers (with explanations where necessary) at the end of the book.

In addition to the "classic" topics of Wave and Optics, we also discuss the subject of oscillations, as an introductory part to waves, as well as more specialized issues of Wave and Optics (waves in 2 and 3 dimensions, Fourier analysis, Fresnel equations, light in matter, etc.)

We also tried in each chapter to present a wide variety of different exercises: simpler applications to everyday physical problems, issues that require more "judgment", problems that require specific, even laborious, mathematical steps, as well as problems that require more "exotic" mathematical techniques. Our goal is to cover every possible educational need, as well as to help make the subject of Wave and Optics accessible to every interested student, educator, and prospective exam candidate. We believe that only by understanding the "what, how, and why" of Physics can we become more capable in solving problems.
