Do you love FPS games? Check out which ones you shouldn't miss!
The most popular type of games worldwide is not a coincidence, as it offers something for every taste.
War, space, science fiction or… pure fantasy, post-apocalyptic or historical. First-person shooter games have worn every possible "costume" over the years, and their variety is so vast that it's impossible not to find something that suits your tastes. If you're looking for the next adventure that will thrill you and get your adrenaline pumping, check out our suggestions!
DOOM Eternal
The original DOOM may be playable even on an ATM, but DOOM Eternal is no joke, bringing beautiful graphics and a fresh approach to the storyline, without losing the essence that made the series so timeless. Richer than ever, the gameplay of DOOM Eternal gives players destructive weapons and abilities that combine with them, always with one goal: to wreak havoc on their enemies. The multi-award-winning action game is one that you must play, at all costs.
Halo Infinite
After a long absence, the FPS that made the genre so popular on consoles has returned better than ever. Halo Infinite continues the story of Master Chief immediately after the events of Halo Wars 2, with players freely exploring the new Zeta Halo, marking the beginning of a new era for the series. Beyond the enjoyable Campaign and the upgraded (yet familiar) gameplay, the beloved multiplayer of the series returns better than ever, completing a fantastic package.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Inspired by the synonymous game that broke every record 14 years ago, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been redesigned for a new generation of players and consoles. The classic, fast-paced gameplay is at its best, as is the cinematic-level Campaign. Beloved heroes, such as Cpt. Price and "Ghost" return, in a brand-new story, inspired by modern events. Of course, Multiplayer couldn't be missing, which remains one of the most popular both at a casual and professional level.
Rainbow Six Siege
Best known for its exceptional campaigns, Rainbow Six made the transition to purely multiplayer titles with Rainbow Six Siege. The gamble paid off, as Rainbow Six Siege remains one of the most popular multiplayer shooters years after its release and continues to evolve, maintaining a massive player community. Emphasizing realism and tactics, players must outsmart their opponents by playing intelligently, much like a game of chess where one wrong move can be costly.
Deathloop
Having won numerous awards in all fields, Deathloop does not belong to the category of "typical" FPS. Created by Arkane (Dishonored, Prey), it is an immersive sim where players control the assassin Colt. His goal is eight Visionaries who must die before midnight, as Colt is stuck in a loop that constantly brings him back to where he started. By studying the behavior of enemies, the environment, and ways to achieve his goal, Colt relies more on his mind than his weapon. With open environments and impeccable aesthetics, Deathloop "begs" the player to explore every corner of the mysterious island.
Metro Exodus
The finale of the post-apocalyptic Metro trilogy brings an end to the story of Artyom, one of the survivors in a shattered world filled with mutated monsters and even worse humans. Now, much of the story unfolds outside the metro tunnels, on the surface of the ravaged Earth, where Artyom and his allies seek a way out and a new life. With a strong survival element, the player must - literally - choose their battles, as ammunition is scarce and some dangers are better avoided entirely. With fantastic graphics and performances, Metro Exodus will remain unforgettable long after the end credits.
Back 4 Blood
If your first thought upon reading the title was "it looks like Left 4 Dead," then it has achieved its purpose. Back 4 Blood comes from the same creators, with the same basic idea: four players try to get from one end of the map to the other without dying. From what? From huge hordes of bloodthirsty zombies and monsters. Each character offers something different, so players must cooperate and help each other, otherwise survival becomes impossible. Whether playing with friends or with unknown teammates, Back 4 Blood offers an experience that is hard to find elsewhere.
Crysis Remastered Trilogy
If you have a console, then... “it can run Crysis” and even better, the entire trilogy with enhanced graphics. The Crysis Remastered Trilogy brings the three games of the series, with improved graphics, to new platforms for even more players to enjoy. Equipped with a suit that offers superhuman strength, speed, endurance, and the ability to become invisible, the protagonist is the last line of defense against the alien threat of the Ceph. The large levels and the capabilities of the NanoSuit give players the freedom to approach each situation as they see fit, and fun is guaranteed.
Rage 2
Another game from id Software (DOOM), offering something entirely different. Yes, the gameplay remains enjoyable, heavy, and precise, as befits the ruined and desolate world where the story unfolds. However, it also has a touch of "madness" that DOOM does not offer, as well as an open world that the player explores either by driving or on foot. A wide variety of weapons and gameplay modes, numerous missions, free exploration, and a dystopian setting reminiscent of Mad Max are some of the key ingredients of Rage 2. Naturally, semi-crazy people, powerful soldiers, and extremely dangerous mutants will stand in the player's way, who must combine forces, weapons, and the environment to take them out.
Severed Steel
A production by a very small company, Severed Steel managed to capture attention due to its fresh gameplay and aesthetics. At an indeterminate point in the future, in a world with cyberpunk elements, players control Steel and wreak havoc on enemies to the sound of enchanting electronic music. Steel has only one arm, so she gets creative – stealing enemies' weapons, using them, and throwing them back, all while running on walls and performing acrobatics that make her a difficult target. Slow motion gives her the opportunity to aim for the perfect headshot and, of course, from start to finish, the adrenaline remains unrelenting.
