Homemade Easter chocolate egg

Homemade Easter chocolate egg

Every year, as Easter approaches, I can't wait to break my chocolate egg..

I am looking forward to discovering the little gifts it contains, as well as tasting its rich chocolate flavor.

The chocolate egg symbolizes the arrival of Spring, which usually coincides with Easter and is closely related to the red egg that we crack on Resurrection Sunday.

But think about it... This year, why not make a homemade Easter chocolate egg for your children and godchildren!

How to make a homemade chocolate egg

The process of making a chocolate egg is very easy, fun, and relaxing.

It is also a nice Easter activity for children... Although I think along the way, there won't be enough chocolate left, as the little ones will constantly be tasting...

  • Melt your preferred couverture chocolate using a double boiler.
  • Take about two tablespoons of the melted chocolate and pour it into the molds. Then, using the silicone brush, spread it in such a way that it covers the entire surface.
  • If you get any chocolate on the edges of the molds, clean it with a spatula.
  • Leave the molds on a flat surface, with the chocolate side facing down, until the chocolate sets or for faster results, place them in the refrigerator.
  • Repeat the process with the melted chocolate two or three more times, until your molds have the desired thickness of chocolate.
  • Once the chocolate has hardened, carefully remove the molds.
  • Place an empty baking tray in the oven to warm up, while also preparing small gifts to fill your chocolate eggs. The small gifts can be other small chocolates, colorful candies, or a fluffy bunny or chick.
  • Place one half of the egg on the warm surface and fill it with the desired gift. Then, place the other half on top. You will notice that the edges have melted together.
  • Join the two halves and place the completed chocolate egg upright until the point of connection solidifies.
  • If there are any areas that haven't stuck well, spread a little melted chocolate with your hand.
  • If you want to take it to the next level of creativity, decorate your egg with designs made of colored fondant or spray it with special edible spray.

But the Easter creation doesn't end here... In the same way, besides a chocolate egg, you can make a chocolate bunny or chick that will delight both young and old!

Simply purchase an Easter mold in the shape of a bunny or chick!

So, have you decided? Will you buy a ready-made chocolate egg this year or will you impress everyone by making one with your own hands?
